⚒️ ENCLOSURE OF A VENTILATION SYSTEM
🔊 ACOUSTIC INSULATION OF A NOISE-EMITTING SYSTEM
👂 Acoustic considerations in densely populated areas were one of the biggest challenges in this project.
🚧 A new ventilation system was installed on the roof terrace of a commercial building. Operation of the system caused airborne noise emissions, which were perceived as a disturbance by the residents of the neighbouring building. The architectural office Ballinipitt was commissioned to plan and coordinate effective noise abatement measures. The approach involved enclosing the system on all sides with a grille structure providing limited access. For this purpose, Cisilent Type E was selected to prevent the propagation of the unwanted noise.
📌 For this project, Cisilent was manufactured to match the steel frame’s grid spacing so that it could be installed by the contractors. The individual Cisilent Type E elements were installed on the inside of the enclosure’s vertical components. According to the planning architect Marc Gonzales, this implementation fully met the noise reduction requirements for the affected residences.
