Lecture held in Biel/Bienne

The track construction conference "Construction under Operation", organised by Sika and our partner company Schubarth, took place in Switzerland on 28 June. The special feature of the conference in bilingual Biel/Bienne was that lectures/presentations were held partly in German and partly in French.

Simultaneous translation via headphones was provided for participants speaking other languages. Calenberg Ingenieure participated in the conference through Dipl.-Ing. N. Jüngel with the topic "Cisilent® Sound Insulation System", where the I-LENA project funded by the German Ministry of Transport was presented. In this project, among other things, mobile noise barriers for reducing noise pollution from construction sites were tested and evaluated about construction noise reduction. The acoustic effectiveness was determined by sound measurements using an artificial and various technical noise sources on a test field. The measurements were carried out by the test laboratory for acoustics and vibrations of DB Systemtechnik GmbH.

The approximately 60 participants enjoyed eight technical presentations. Afterwards, a lively discussion arose between the contributors over snacks and drinks.
